Baptism is an outward sign of our initiation into the Body of Christ.
Through this sacred act, we receive and affirm God's promise of grace, forgiveness, and lifelong transformation.
Who Can Be Baptized?
In the United Methodist Church, baptism is open to all ages:
-
Infants and young children are baptized as a sign of God’s grace already at work in their lives
-
Parents and sponsors make promises on their behalf, which can be confirmed later in life
-
Adults are invited to baptism as a personal response to God’s call
Already Baptized?
If you’ve been baptized in another Christian denomination, you do not need to be re-baptized.
Baptism brings you into the universal body of Christ, not just a single congregation.
