At Hazel Crest Community UMC, we believe that death is part of the journey of life and faith. In times of loss, we gather in worship and remembrance to honor the life of the departed and to celebrate the hope we have in Christ.

Grief Support

Grieving doesn’t end with the funeral. Anniversaries and milestones can stir up deep emotions and renewed sorrow. You're not alone—and your feelings are valid.

Ways to Navigate Grief:

  • Prayer & Reflection
Spend time with God. Pour out your heart, and find peace in His promises.
    See: John 14:1–4, Psalm 34:18

  • Connect with Others
Share memories with family and friends. Talking can bring healing.

  • Honor Their Memory
Visit meaningful places, engage in shared hobbies, or do an act of kindness in their name.

  • Seek Support
It’s okay to ask for help. Grief counseling can be a powerful step toward healing.
